In the fifth of a series of Trustee Q&A blogs, we speak to Matt Ralph, who joined the board of The Charity Service in 2022.
Can you tell us about your background and professional career?
I’ve worked in Financial Services all of my professional career and I’m now a Partner at Castlefield, an employee-owned ethical investment and advice firm in Manchester.
What initially interested you in becoming a trustee?
It felt like a fantastic opportunity to make a difference and develop new skills.
Why did you choose to join The Charity Service?
I strongly believe that people can use their money to make a positive impact by making informed choices that align with their values. This very much aligns with The Charity Services role supporting donors in their philanthropic goals.
What do you enjoy most about being a trustee at The Charity Service?
I really enjoy meeting with the other trustees and staff who are all from different professional backgrounds with diverse experiences, but with a common interest.
What are The Charity Service’s key strengths?
The Charity Service is agile enough to truly understand the needs of charities of all sizes and shapes, and committed enough to offer truly unique services.
Where would you like to see The Charity Service in five years’ time?
Continuing to grow and develop, inspiring more and more philanthropy in Manchester and beyond!
